leadership
Faith Anchorage is a congregation governed in according to a presbyterian system of church polity. ["What is a Presbyterian?"]
One of the things this means is that our congregation nominates and elects elders who we believe are called to guide the spiritual life of the congregation through word (teaching and encouraging) and action (being examples of Christian maturity and love). Passages in the Bible that describe these qualifications are found in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1. When the elders meet for meetings, they are collectively called, the session.
The five elders of Faith Presbyterian are:
- John Jones: jjones (at) faithanchorage (dot) org [bio] [John's notes]
- Bill March: bmarch (at) faithanchorage (dot) org
- Mark Sprano: msprano (at) faithanchorage (dot) org
- Jim Strong: jstrong (at) faithanchorage (dot) org
- Bill Weiss: bweiss (at) faithanchorage (dot) org
John is our “teaching” elder, meaning that he is our pastor.
