grow
At Faith Anchorage, we want to provide regular opportunities to grow in our understanding of the life and message of Jesus Christ, and our ability to glorify Him in all that we do. Here are the following opportunities.
Sunday Morning Instruction
Each Sunday morning at Faith Anchorage, there is Christ-centered instruction offered for every age group: childhood, youth, and adults. Learn more.
Student Lunch
The Student Lunch is a time for high school students and their friends to join John and the Jones family for lunch and discussion. Student Lunch happens on the first Sunday of every month. Learn more.
Introduction to Faith seminar
Each Fall and Spring, Faith Anchorage hosts a seminar designed to introduce the people, teaching, and life of the congregation. If you are contemplating membership, this is a wonderful opportunity for you to learn about Faith. While some people will attend because they are considering becoming members of Faith Presbyterian Church, this seminar is designed to be a friendly time to get to know the life and ministry of Faith Anchorage. The next Introduction to Faith seminar will be offered sometime in the month of April (please keep an eye on the calendar).
Weekly Bible Study
On Tuesday evenings, we gather at the home of John and Karen Jones to study a book of the Bible. From Fall 2009 to Spring 2010, John will be leading a study of Paul’s letter to the Romans. See the calendar for location and the latest schedule.
College & Career Bible Study
This Monday evening Bible study is hosted by the College & Career group of Faith Anchorage. Currently, Lyle, Jay, and Erik will be sharing the leadership duties as they make their way through the Letter of James. All 20-to-30-somethings are encouraged to come for fellowship and study. See the calendar for location and the latest schedule.
Weekly Prayer
There are currently two weekly scheduled opportunities for prayer. There is a Ladies’ Prayer group that gathers Tuesday mornings (9:30 am) downstairs at the Tanglewood location. There is also a Men’s Prayer group that gathers Thursday mornings (6:00 am) at the home of Jay Gardner. You can visit the calendar for dates and details.
House to House
House to House is a ministry of the elders of Faith Presbyterian Church to the people of Faith Presbyterian Church. In the history of the church, it has been the habit of elders to minister from “house to house (Acts 20.20-21 and James 5.14)” and the Bible teaches that elders are a gift to the church (Ephesians 4.11-12) called to “pay careful attention to the flock (Acts 20.28).” This does not happen just on Sunday and not just in the sanctuary. Each visit takes place on Thursday evening, lasts one hour, and is intended for the entire family. There is no need to prepare. After opening with a rationale for the ministry, a brief devotional is shared before we take time to encourage one another’s growth in grace. We close by praying together. Please see the calendar for the latest schedule of visits.
