Below is a list of the organizations that we partner with to proclaim the gospel through works of service (James 2:18).

SAFE FAMILIES/BEACON HILL

Safe Families couples the compelling love of Jesus Christ to protecting the widows and orphans of Anchorage to help prevent them from needing Foster Care, while sharing the gospel. There are several ways Faith PCA families are involved with this.

  • Host Family – this is a family that goes through training and state background checks, and is available on an ‘as needed’ basis to host children under the age of 18 for short periods of time when a parent has some sort of limitation or general need.

  • Family Coach – this is a person trained to help the parent navigate life and disciple them through the difficult decision of separating with their child for a short period.

  • Community Groups – Faith PCA has many community groups and the “host family’s” community group helps support them financially and materially during a hosting.

ALASKA CORRECTIONAL MINISTRY

Men and Women at Faith PCA receive training from the chaplaincy program at Alaska Correctional Ministries and become Christian-Discipleship-Mentors. This is usually done on a weekly basis in the setting of the prison itself as men and women get ready to transition from life in prison to living and working back in Anchorage or elsewhere.

NEW HOPE FOOD PANTRY

New Hope has opportunities to help “grocery shop” people through their food pantry on Tuesday mornings.

COMMUNITY PREGNANCY CENTER (CPC)

Faith PCA helps the CPC raise money to provide help and hope to women and men facing difficult pregnancy decisions in Anchorage. We have a “baby-bottle” fundraiser between Mother’s Day and Father’s Day that we fill baby bottles with money to support “Change for Life”: a pro-life initiative. There are other ongoing events throughout the year.
